Nabtesco, Japan: World Speed Reducer
Nabtesco was founded in September 2003. In fact, it is composed of a combination of Teijin Seiki and Nabok. As the world's largest company in the field of precision reducers for industrial robot joints, Nabtesco accounts for 60% of the global market.
The Japanese Teijin Seiki was established in 1944. Around 1980, Teijin Seiki proposed the RV transmission theory and started to apply to the robot industry. In 1986, the Teijin Seiki RV reducer was officially mass - produced and succeeded.
As a manufacturer of motion control systems and components, both companies have mastered high - end core technologies in their specific business areas and controlled a high market share. In 2003, Teijin Seiki and Nabok merged to form Nabtesco, which has developed into a leader in the RV reducer industry, accounting for more than 60% of the market, especially in medium/heavy duty robots, and its RV reducer market. The share is as high as 90%.
